AdvaMed Guidelines

GORE MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE ADVAMED CODE OF ETHICS.

Gore may occasionally provide approved items to Health Care Providers that:

  • Benefit patients, or
  • Serve a genuine educational function for HCPs

 Allowable items are:

  • Limited to a fair market value of $100, except:
    • Textbooks and anatomical models are not subject to the $100 limit.

Gore may not provide items that:

  • Can be used for purposes other than patient benefit or HCP educational benefits.
    • Examples of prohibited items include DVD player or iPod with educational material.
  • Are branded with Gore or Gore product logos and are non educational.
    • Examples of prohibited items include pens, mugs, notepads, scrubs and lead.
  • Are given for holidays or life events, such as weddings, birthdays or retirements.
  • Are given with the intent or the appearance of the intent to reward an HCP for using or recommending a Gore Medical Device, including any rebate or "kickback" that is prohibited under applicable fraud and abuse laws, including the federal Anti-Kickback Statute.

* Note that state laws in Massachusetts and Vermont allow Gore to give only textbooks to HCPs—no other items are allowed.
